More info on this when tickets are on sale.

What do you need to bring to the RF?

10 meter network cable
Headphones. (No speakers.)
Driver and software cds, game install cds, spare keyboard/mouse/power cables.

All the FAQs can be found here

You get limited internet usage.
You can play any games you want.
You don't have to join the tornaments: you can just play against anyone there at the lan.
Tornaments at last RF included Quake 3 arena, Warcraft 3 TFT Melee, CS:S, DoTA, Call of Duty 4, Wii Tennis, TrackMania, Team Fortress 2

If you have read the FAQ, you will have seen that they sell snacks there and they do a pizza pick up thing.

Just thought I'd mention ^^

They also have consoles there as well for you to play
PS3, xbox 360, Nintendo 64 and Wii

And giveaways

Just to repeat, you do NOT need to go into tournaments! You can just play games casually against others at the LAN.

For all games on Steam, they must be fully updated BEFORE you arrive and Steam must be set to offline mode. You will use all your internet usage if you don't do this!

I'd love to come. Slight problem. I am unable to afford the plane ticket cost for the flight from Sydney to WA. Could you ask them nicely to come to sydney please?

You do get to use the internet, but you only have a very limited quota.

So you won't be able to download stuff.
Good for MSN though.

Now to talk about Trash and Treasure.

Do you have anything that you would like to just give away? The Trash and Treasure part of the day allows you to pick up something really cool or get rid of something you don't need any more.

You can't throw away junk.

As said by one of the admins, Trent
"Easy examples could be computer hardware, but it doesn't have to be.. some stuff I've seen go in the past is RAM, dialup modems, old laptops, 15" monitors, toy cars, you name it.

Note that this is NOT a dumping ground, if your item isn't taken, you get it back! And don't bring things that no one will actually use or we may accidentally throw them at you. Please also make sure the item is owned by you or you have the owner (i.e. your parents!) permission to give it away!"

They also like to throw cheeseburgers.

I suggest you also sign up to their forum and have a read.
If I find something interesting or of importance, I will post it here.

KEEP YOUR MOBILE PHONES IN YOUR POCKET!
Several people got their phones stolen at the last RF

Apparently they have special guests too. Like the Red Bull girls...if they show up, their will be real blood spilt. Not just the stuff in games Razz
